Do you ever feel just like you need a vacation from your vacation? Sometimes we over-plan, over-schedule and overdo vacation. Today, I am sharing a few tips and beauty essentials for stress-free summer travel to help you truly enjoy your trips this summer - whether they are action-packed family outings or a quiet, serene getaway for one (or two)!

We really want to savor our summer, building memories. So much of our lives are spent busying ourselves with one thing or another. Here are a few tips to avoid burnout during a vacation.

Don’t over schedule it. This means aim for one location and a few things each day. If you have kids, aim for things they love to do, such as the pool or beach. Try not to do too much in one day. If you think it's too much, it probably is.

Be flexible. Nothing ever goes according to plan. The hotel may not be able to find your reservations and the kids may throw tantrums. Have reasonable expectations and be open to whatever happens. If you encounter a moment where you are tempted to stress or try to control the situation, just breathe. Open yourself up to the experience. You never know what you may learn if you listen and watch closely and let go of expectations.

Take time for yourself. You are probably sharing time and space with others while on vacation, but see if you can take some "me" time to be alone. Go for a walk or find a yoga class. Watch the sun rise or set (or both). Do something that refills your well. Trade off days waking up early with the kids for a little alone time.
While you’re savoring away, don’t give your skin care routine a vacation! Here is what is in my travel bag this summer:

coconut rosehip face maskLo&Behold - Coconut & Rose Hip Face Mask
 -   Start your vacation right. Prepare your skin for a flight or long journey with this mask. Lightly clarifies and moisturizes skin. One package contains up to 5 masks - just be sure to bring along a baggie or another form of airtight storage to keep the powder fresh.
Herbivore - Orchid Facial Oil Roller - The perfect summer moisturizer! Roll onto your fingers and apply to your face, then let it set for a few minutes before applying makeup.
C&Co. - Calm Solid Scent - Super portable natural floral perfume. A mix of rich oils that condition your skin. Just twist to open & apply to pressure points. Great for aromatherapy for the plane. It smells dreamy and is a must have item for your travel bag.

It's all about perspective. Don't forget to realize that vacation serves a purpose – to enjoy your time with your family away from the obligations of home and work. With these helpful tips you can keep a fresh-faced, clean look during traveling and enjoy the moments, together.

Let’s get away!
